Custodian is the community-driven technology platform for car enthusiasts. We combine useful ownership tooling, a curated specialist car marketplace and enthusiast-friendly insurance with an active community of 60,000+ enthusiast users, making it easier than ever to own, share, and enjoy specialist cars… and in the future other collectible assets!

Our platform helps owners look after their cars with digital history files, invoice tracking, reminders, cost of ownership analytics, data room facility for selling your car, image and document storage and more. In the coming months, we’ll be launching AI ownership assistant to support enthusiasts even more.

On top of this, Custodian offers best-in-class enthusiast-friendly insurance and a curated marketplace (“The Showroom”). The tooling and data from the digital garage allows us to offer more personalised services to our users and also allows us to more effectively price and select risk for insurance (and in the future, financing). In 2026, we’ll be expanding the business into the enthusiast car mecca… the USA.

Today, over £1bn worth of cars are managed on Custodian, a growing book of insurance business and over 6,000 cars listed for sale to date on The Showroom. We’re backed by top-tier venture capital and strategic investors, and are scaling rapidly in the UK ahead of international expansion.

You’ll work closely with Ben, our Head of Growth, and our three co-founders — Charles, a lifelong car enthusiast and historic racer with an investment banking background; Jeremy, a serial technology entrepreneur, previous Forbes 30 Under 30 winner and Y Combinator alumni; and Nathalia, an award-winning engineer and community builder. Together with our investors and advisors, who bring decades of experience in both insurance, technology and automotive, you’ll be joining a team that’s serious about execution but never forgets why we’re here: because we love cars, technology and the communities which surround them!

The Role‍

Custodian is looking for a passionate Content Creator to join the team and take responsibility for the conception, design and execution of digital visuals to be used in online advertising, digital marketing, our social media channels and our publication, The Apex. Someone to give our brand a voice. We’re not just looking for an operator, but someone to bring ideas and good energy to the Custodian team.

We expect that the candidate will be proficient and experienced with software such as Photoshop / Figma / Premiere Pro / After Effects and be experienced behind or in front of the camera lens. A interest in the automotive world is a must, as we will be sending you out to capture some of the UK’s best automotive events - providing unique access to the world’s coolest cars, workshops and race meetings!

Furthermore, the candidate should have used or be interested in using AI tooling to support the development and output of the creative process.

You Will

  • Own the content calendar - plan, shoot and edit content to publish across our social media channels including writing compelling copy.
  • Use AI tooling to research, develop and create content.
  • Design and prepare digital creatives for our online advertising and digital marketing.
  • Photograph automotive events and capture the passion and vibrancy of the car community.
  • Prepare content for The Apex, our weekly publication.
  • Bring consistency to the company’s brand aesthetic and develop fluency in Custodian’s tone of voice.
  • Surface and pitch relevant and exciting content ideas to the rest of the team.

You Are

  • Experienced and proficient in any of the following softwares: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), Figma etc. Experience could be gained via professional or personal projects - show us what you’ve done and the tools you’ve used!  Alternative software stacks will be considered but evidence of capability is always a must. We see you DaVinci Resolve enthusiasts!
  • Proactive and ambitious, with a strong aesthetic vision.
  • Superb with a camera and understand content creation process from planning to shooting to editing to publishing.
  • A strong copywriter with an eye for sharp and intelligent copy.
  • A cars lover and eager to become a thought-leader in the automotive industry.
  • A self starter and have a take charge attitude.
  • A native English speaker or have a near native level.

Bonus Points

  • Have an understanding of the UK car community and the different car events, i.e. Goodwood, Caffeine & Machine, Concours events etc.
  • Experience working in a growing startup environment.
  • You have a driving license so you can attend and be involved in car events.

We read through every application we receive. We will get back to you as quickly as we possibly can.

We do our best to inform unsuccessful candidates as best as we can where we think they were lacking and offer suggestions as to their personal career opportunities where appropriate.

In the case where there is simply another stronger candidate and we only have one role to fill we will sometimes ask an applicant if we can keep their records should another position become available soon.

If successful, we will invite you to interview with us. The exact process differs depending on the role. The email asking you to interview will include any role specific steps which are required to help us make the right decision about who to hire.

As a company we are committed to hiring people even when there isn't always adequate experience in the past. Many of our talented team-members had no official experience in their roles and we try to offer opportunities to those who are the same.

Depending on how many applications there are for a particular role, interviews may take up to 2 weeks to complete.  Therefore the time it will take to inform you as to whether we would like to offer you the role, can be anywhere between 1 and 14 days. We will give you an estimate of this at the end of your interview.

Internally we will rank our preferred hires and reach out to them in that order. If you do not reply within 24 hours we will reach out to the next candidate (if there is one) making an informal offer to them. Once a candidate accepts their informal offer we will send over the official job offer.

Basically if you are our first choice you get 24 hours headstart on others to say you would like to take the role.

If you are unsuccessful we will do our best to inform you as to why, similar to above.

If you are successful we will make you an official job offer.

Should you accept the official job offer and sign the appropriate documents, we will begin an onboarding process immediately.
